Family Life Retreat: On the weekend of Sept. 10-12 we will be enjoying our annual family life retreat in Silver Beach, VA. Come and experience a spirit-filled weekend of fellowship, enrichment, and relaxation. Pastor Vincent Dehm is our guest speaker for the weekend. Regular Sabbath services will still be held at church on Sept. 11 for those who may not be able to attend the retreat.
Financial Empowerment Wknd: Join us for a special weekend of financial education from the Word of God as we host our annual Financial Empowerment Weekend, Sept. 17-19. Our guest speaker is Mr. Jeremy Becker, financial adviser from CA. On Sunday we'll have a Free Financial Fair open to the community where you can receive vital information on home mortgages, life insurance, wills, etc; as well as receive free financial counseling. Come learn how to handle your money God's way. Its time to take control of your finances instead of your finances controlling you!
Family & Friends Day: On sabbath, Sept. 25 we will be celebrating our Family & Friends Day. This will be an uplifting and life-changing spiritual experience that you don't want to miss. Be sure to invite your neighbors, co-workers, family members and friends. Lunch will be served for all immediately after service. You're sure to be blessed!

Prayer Walk, Sept. 18: On sabbath, Sept. 18 after 11a service, the entire church will converge on our community with the power of prayer. We will walk the streets of our neighborhood praying in front of homes, on street corners, and with those passing by. Its time that we go out and make a visible difference in our community through the ministry of prayer. Come prepared with your walking shoes on sabbath as we take back our neighborhoods for Jesus!
Fitness Class: Join the Health & Temperance ministry every Tuesday at 6:30p for our weekly exercise class. We have a professional trainer that will guide you through rigorous sessions that include cardio, aerobics, muscle toning and more! Come on out next Tuesday and let's get fit for Jesus!
Tanzania Project- Havilah Children's Village: Global Vessels ministry is looking for persons who are willing to sponsor an orphan at the Havilah Village in Tanzania. Ruth Thornton Education Scholarship: We are proud to introduce a new scholarship program to help families in their commitment to Christian education. The Ruth Thornton Education Scholarship has been created to provide financial assistance for worthy students pursuing Christian education and or post-secondary training at an institution of higher learning. Religious Liberties: Every day Seventh-day Adventists face discrimination in the work place for no other reason than their commitment to obey God. Calvary Prison Ministry: Looking to get involved? Have a burden for those in prison? The prison ministry is looking for willing persons to be a part of this powerful ministry. We need help in the following areas: (1) General inmate correspondence, literature, tract mailing & Bible Study grading (prison visits required). (2)Team members who are willing to join the visitation team at Newport News City Farm once a month on Tuesdays or the 2nd & 4th sabbaths at South Hampton Correctional Center.
