Our Beliefs

Seventh-day Adventist Christians:  Who we are is found in our name.  We are first and foremost a fellowship of Bible believing Christians who believe in the redemptive sacrifice of Jesus Christ.  When Christ died on the cross, He completed once and for all an atonement that reconciled sinful humanity back to God.  We believe that we are saved by grace through faith in this redemptive work of Jesus.  Today, as blood bought disciples of Christ, we seek to emulate the life, character, and teachings of our Lord and Savior (John 3:16; Eph. 2:8; Gal. 2:20).

"Seventh-day" As followers of Christ, we demonstrate our love for Him through obedience to His commandments (John 14:15,21).  We do not obey God's commandments to be saved, but rather are obedient because we are saved.  We believe that the 10 commandments are a revelation of God's holy standard for humanity and the privilege of every believer to follow including the 4th commandment which teaches the observance of the seventh day of the week (Saturday) as a sacred sabbath day of rest and communion with God (Ex. 20:8; Isa. 58:13,14; Matt. 5:17-19; Luke 4:16; Acts 13:42-44).  We worship God seven days a week but come aside for more intimate communion with Him on this special day wherein He rested, blessed the seventh day, and sanctified it (Gen. 2:2,3).

"Adventist"  We are a community of believers who eagerly anticipate the second advent or coming of Jesus Christ.  We believe Christ's second coming will be a spectacular event that is visible, literal, and universal and will mark the inglorious end of the kingdoms of this world (Rev. 11:15).  Every eye, saved and unsaved (Rev. 1:7), will witness this event and at this time God's righteous believers will be reunited with the Lord for eternity.  Our lifestyles therefore are governed by watching & waiting, serving & loving, and personal holiness in expectancy of our Lord's soon return (Jn 14:1-3; Acts 1:11; I Thess. 4:16,17; Matt 24:42-44; Matt. 25:31-46; Heb. 12:14).

28 Fundamental Beliefs
Seventh-day Adventists accept the Bible as their only creed and hold certain fundamental beliefs to be the teaching of the Holy Scriptures. These beliefs, as set forth here, constitute the church's understanding and expression of the teaching of Scripture. Revision of these statements may be expected at a General Conference session when the church is led by the Holy Spirit to a fuller understanding of Bible truth or finds better language in which to express the teachings of God's Holy Word.  (Click the [+] to learn more.)
